Yes downtown Buffalo just needs more parking. Only a third of it is parking now, maybe we get it up to 50-60%. That would make it desirable for sure

EFPs - the advanced IED - were indeed the prominent ground threat in Iraq circa 2008, at least in our sector. One blew through my best friend’s Stryker, came inches from slicing him in two. Iraqi teenage boys were paid chump change to emplace them. We found many but not enough.

actually disagree. US cities lapped European cities in the early 1900s, with simple grids and tons of transit. the problem is that we bulldozed most of those cities with highways and parking lots in the 60s

I feel like I'm going out of my mind with these tweets that the memo is "reasonable" — There's no debate about the legality of the renditions, the courts have ruled against them. Weiss's notes all pretend there was some possible legitimacy to the administration's actions

On the one hand, Bari’s notes about the segment in that memo today don’t seem unreasonable to me. On the other hand, it is incredibly funny that none of them were like “we should probably make sure none of the foreign broadcasters that air 60 Minutes scheduled this to go up”
