It makes sense for cloudflare to have a CMS especially after the Astro acquisition. But calling this a spiritual successor to Wordpress just because the backend looks like Wordpress is… a stretch.

@Seapeekay @LegallyIrene does it still say 13 for you? because the leaderboard says 18 which is correct if you did all picks. and it also looks correct in the database.

@dreamsofcode_io I guess “fair source” tries to do that in a way but a lot of the licenses wouldn’t qualify because most of the existing ones wouldn’t qualify because of the delayed open source requirement.

@dreamsofcode_io It’s probably hard to define, but i feel like some term between open source and source available would be good for all those non-compete source available licenses. Source available is just so broad. But poisoning the open source term like that is obviously bad.

Personally, I believe any CTO should have a basic understanding of software licensing.

Some morons latched onto what I called Fizzy by @37signals an Open Source product. I will do it again. It is Open Source, whether you like it or not. Open Source can be different. It can be a library that you can directly use in your software. It can be a documentation or a schema that you can learn from. It can be a codebase. Fizzy is an Open Source codebase to explore and study. Spend your time on learning and not on explaining to me the license.

One thing to look out for in the coming negotiations is Article 4, where the council expanded the original commission proposal and made it extremely vague. The parliament position here is very different.

The EU parliament already reached a position for those negotiations in 2023 and this position also opposed scanning encrypted communication.

I know that the EU regulatory process is confusing but this is just not correct.
Nothing passed, the parliament has to vote on it to pass. And they didn’t. There isn’t even a final proposal.
