I’m 30. I’ve spent years building software for other companies. Now I’m trying to build something of my own. The goal: launch small apps, share the process, and build my first $1K/month product. No fake wins. No guru stuff. Just building, failing, learning, and shipping in public.

I totally agree. Honestly, most marketing resources repeat the same generic advice, and I don’t think a lot of it reflects the real market. Paid ads can work, but I feel like they reduce the learning. Once you stop spending, the users stop coming too. So right now, I’m trying to learn how to reach a niche audience organically. My first experiment is building a TikTok account around a niche before even having an app idea. I’m also working on automating that process. If it works, I’ll share everything day by day on X. From now on, I don’t want to build an app until I can reach the niche organically first.

Honestly, this is probably the smartest way to approach the industry. A lot of builders can ship, but the ones who win usually learn distribution before launching the next thing. Curious, how are you learning marketing right now? Any creators, books, or frameworks you’d recommend for someone trying to improve too?
