Behind the hyper-sculpted "Classic Physique" lies a brutal, hidden reality: The Electrolyte Trap To achieve "bone-dry" skin on stage, competitors push dehydration to the absolute limit. Many turn to loop diuretics to flush out water—but this violently drains essential potassium and magnesium. Electrical Chaos This critical potassium depletion alters the heart's resting electrical membrane potential (V_m). The heart's electrical system hyperpolarizes, delaying repolarization (prolonging the QT interval) and leaving the myocardium highly vulnerable to sudden, lethal arrhythmias.
