🚀 @StartupPicnic_ Venture Studio is offering a funded opportunity to co-found a technology-enabled book printing company.
We are seeking an experienced Print Press Operator / Production Lead to take a founding role in building this operation from the ground up.
This initiative is supported by @bulabuka Publishers and @iZwily .
The venture sits within the iZwily.com ecosystem, a unified ordering and ERP platform connecting authors, publishers, and bookstores through a streamlined production and fulfilment system.
Within this model, books are printed based on real demand and distributed into major South African retail channels, including Exclusive Books, Bargain Books, Van Schaik, and Takealot.
The printing operation itself is designed as a technology-enabled, print-on-demand facility—capable of producing single-copy orders while also scaling efficiently to mid-volume production.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The selected candidate will take ownership of building and running the operation, including:
• Designing and implementing end-to-end production workflows (pre-press to fulfilment)
• Selecting and managing printing equipment (digital and/or offset)
• Establishing production operations and building teams
• Implementing print-on-demand capability, including 1-book orders
• Integrating production systems with the iZwily ERP platform
• Ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-quality output
This is a funded founding opportunity, with equity participation and long-term upside aligned to the growth of the business.
