The 5-year Game Plan that can radically change your life.
If you scroll through social media, there is no shortage of content that promises to change your life instantly and of course, most don’t deliver on that promise. We all have dreams and aspirations of the things we like to see in our lives. There is one key component beyond the resolve and capacity to work on these dreams: Time. A key question that follows is what amount of time you should budget for or dedicate to pursuing big dreams. The time aspect is also complicated because as humans we have finite lives and therefore none of us can live forever to work on our dreams.
As someone who has pursued and continues to pursue audacious dreams and goals, over the years I have developed a key time budget time frame for such occasions. If I want to do something audacious like building Mazima Retirement Plan (mazimarbs.co.ug) I will ask myself if I can commit 5 years to it. The second part of the question would be if it can be achieved in 5 years. And lastly, the question is if it works how does it change my world and the world around me? If I decide that it can be and that it can radically change my circumstances and make the world a better place, it is then something worth working on.
The key takeaway from this is that it probably will take you 5 years to start seeing the results of the decision to pursue your dreams. Don’t want to believe; Refer to President Museveni’s 5-year Bush war.
