Just in: We documented an anticipated, but rare to witness event during the last days of our @UDelaware @udceoe -led expedition at the East Pacific Rise. An eruptive activity wiped out all of the habitats at Tica - a famous site among hydrothermal vent scientists - with signs of elevated activity in our broader study area. Our fluid chemistry team supported by @ERC_Research @METU_ODTU are busy with characterising the aftermath on deep-ocean chemistry. Check out the @nytimes article here: nytimes.com/2025/05/02/sci…
