UPDATE: I think i've figured this minigame out. Just got a 19.7, which beats the master miis by 2.5-3 seconds. You def want to use the diagonal directions on the Dpad to make turns tight. The crucial part is to not turn too early cause you'll bounce and lose a lot of ground

I DO think i know why poof bounces around a lot though.i think it's cause he's trying to turn too early. If you try to turn and hit the invis-walls, they make you bounce around a lot. I also tend to have more success only using the cardinal Dpad directions and not using diagonals
