@JimPfaendtner I think a lot about tiers of data. E.g., I'm guessing that a lot of the 100 TB are results from simulations. I think that many of those results can be rm:ed, but I would try to retain the files that would be needed to regenerate those simulations.

It’s all fun and games until you have to deal with 100TB of tape archive at your old institution. All of my sponsored research DMPs call for archiving data from pubs for 5 years and I no longer have grant money to pay for data earlier than 2019. Should I:

@byu_sam Data that addresses the suitability of the facilities for the approach, like measurements of temperature stability or vibrations, might be appropriate? I don't feel that it is appropriate to consider data in that section in the context of the hypotheses of the project.

So I'm reviewing a proposal, and there is a 'Facilities' document with 'Preliminary data'. Never seen that before. comments?
