@bomani_jones I think what also helps amar'e is he was the first free agent star to take the challenge of making the Knicks relevant again after a decade of disaster and missteps. Between that, a good run in NY, and his amazing play with the Suns, it gives his HOF case a big boost

basketball hall doesn’t harshly penalize guys for injury (remember with derrick rose). but guys, amar’e was a BEAST. had a GREAT season before and after microfracture. 72.9 from basketball-reference’s hof probability metric. i get disagreeing, but this isn’t egregious.

@TraeK_ The game 7 point is right in line with what i'm thinking. Lynx v Liberty game 5 in 2024 was a WWE Hell in a Cell match, but the grit, toughness, and determination from both teams made it incredibly compelling even if there wasn't as much scoring compared to their norms.

You’re not going to get an amazing Final 4 every year. As much as the pageantry matters and as high as the stakes are its still a one and done basketball game to be played. The awesome ones are rarer than the awful ones. No different than how Game 7s turn into rock fights.

A bit disingenuous to ask where’s this commentary on the mens game. Because from 2020 to mid 2025 every platform talked about how bad the product of MCBB was. While everyone lauded WCBB being a great product Fair is Fair BUT I do think this NCAAT downturn is overblown

I disagree with this. The deeper we go in any postseason, it becomes more rugged and scoring a LOT harder to come by. The strength and perseverance needed to survive and advance is what makes postseason fun and beautiful to me. The Final Four is in line with basketball tradition

Finished "Moses and The Doctor" by Luke Epplin this morning and it is outstanding! Learned so much about Moses and Julius Erving and would definitely recommend it to hoops fans. I always enjoy learning about the ABA and 1970s + 1980s NBA and this book hit all the right notes.
