100 years & counting,my ancestral house in “Tral” Kashmir. Ohh my dear you stood testimony to the changing colours of time.Your courtyard may not have its pristine glory but your presence will be a reminder to all those beautiful times and scars both.

The MLA simply sought upgradation of a school in his constituency, the Minister took it to next level saying it is because of the MLA that Article 370 was abrogated, that financial implications are there and that her hands are tied, that she has no power, etc etc. Next time, if the MLA asks for a teacher in Tral college, the Minister might hold him responsible for the blockade of Strait of Hormuz and might ask him to open Hormuz first then seek a teacher for Tral college.

“Hamari choti bachiyan hain unko door jana padta hai” points to a clear concern. “Hamare haath bandhe hue hain” sounds less like a response and more like a disclaimer. The MLA, after all, was only seeking the upgradation of a school.

MLA Eidgah Mubarak Gul can draft a bill to hike his own salary as Chief Whip, but “Agar Firdous bar roo-e-zameen…” proves a bit too complex. Yahi asto… yahi asto… yahi asto 😂 No wonder replacing Persian “Munsif” with “Civil Judge” suddenly makes perfect sense.

Daily wagers are the silent backbone of our departments. They build our roads, run our offices, and serve our people often without security or dignity. Standing for their rights is not just politics, it is a humanitarian duty @parawahid

Betrayal of the youth stands exposed. On an issue of reservations affecting lakhs, Cheif Minister Omar Abdullah not only warns voting against the bill but follows through ensuring every MLA of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference votes it down. The Reservation Bill is now rejected. This is the same party that seeks votes in the name of these very youth across Kashmir, Pir Panjal, and Chenab Valley only to turn its back when it matters most. Promises are made in public, but decisions in the Assembly tell the real story.

For decades, parties across J&K have claimed to stand with Kashmiri Pandits. Today stands an opportunity for all to “Walk the Talk.” With the “Reintegration Bill,” moved under the guidance of @jkpdp President @MehboobaMufti by MLA from Budgam, @Agasyedmuntazir , listed in the Assembly, here is an opportunity for all to contribute towards healing the wounds of Kashmiri Pandits for 36 years with dignity, justice & collective will. I urge the @JKNC_ , @BJP4India @BJP4JnK & all others to rise above political divides and extend their full support to this effort.

Glad to see my petition on AIIMS Awantipora, Pulwama tabled in the Assembly today. This vital project was the dream of Mufti Mohammad Sayed Sb. Urging the government to ensure its time-bound completion so the people finally get the healthcare and opportunities they were promised.

J&K Assembly rejected the Sheikh-ul-Alam University Bill moved by Waheed ur Rehman Para blocking what could have been a major private university for our youth. While India has 400+ private universities, top institutions across states are educating lakhs of students: Universities and their enrolments BITS Pilani (18,000), Manipal Academy (28,000), VIT Vellore (50,000), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (24,000), Ashoka University (3,000), Chandigarh University (25,000), SRM IST (50,000), Symbiosis Pune (~30,000), Shiv Nadar University (4,000), Shoolini University (10,000). States with number of universities they have Rajasthan (50), Gujarat (60), MP (40), Haryana (25) and Punjab (18) have thriving ecosystems while J&K still has none. Our students are forced to migrate facing insecurity, hate crimes, discrimination, even crises abroad West Asia war is a glaring example yet a govt elected for upliftment becomes the biggest roadblock at home. This isn’t governance, it’s denial of our youth’s future.

A Marathon Ordeal: From 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM Is Jammu city truly ready for a marathon, or are we just chasing an image without doing the groundwork? This morning, I experienced the answer firsthand. I had to drop a friend at the railway station for an 8:30 train. We left Roop Nagar at 6:30 a.m., taking the advised fourth bridge route, assuming that despite the marathon, basic movement across the city would remain manageable. But by the time we reached Canal Road, it had already turned into a nightmare. The scale of the mess started revealing itself every road leading to the railway station was blocked. We crossed the 4th Bridge, thinking a slightly longer route would still get us there in time. The left turn towards Asia Chowk was blocked, so we diverted right via the New Airport road towards Satwari Chowk. The moment we reached Satwari and asked for directions to the railway station, the complete cluelessness of the personnel on duty made one thing clear we were on our own, and missing the train was now a real possibility. From Satwari to Asia Chowk, we kept searching for a way through. One side of the road was sealed off for runners, and not a single official could tell us what route to take. Like many others stuck in the same situation, we began following fellow commuters, moving aimlessly from one diversion to another. Through narrow lanes of Nai Basti and Shastri Nagar, we somehow reached Gandhi Nagar only to feel stranded again, as every connecting road to the railway station remained blocked, with no guidance in sight. After navigating through mohallas and bylanes, we finally reached Nanak Nagar and spotted RBI Chowk leading towards the station. That moment genuinely felt like achieving a milestone. I dropped my friend, wished him well, and as I drove back, one question kept repeating in my mind is it really this difficult to organise an event, or is it simply assumed that people will “figure it out” on their own? Is the idea to just block roads, click pictures, issue a media note, and project a “successful, high-profile event”? Because on the ground, the reality was very different. Jammu’s city centre is small and tightly knit built around key stretches like Jewel Chowk, Bus Stand Road, Canal Road, M.A.M. College Road, Gandhi Nagar, and Asia Chowk. Block these, and you effectively paralyse the entire city. That is exactly what happened. Every cardinal road leading to essential lifelines—the railway station, bus stand, even access routes towards hospitals was cut off. What made matters worse was the complete absence of basic planning. Not a single signage. Not even temporary direction boards to guide commuters towards critical destinations like the railway station, bus stand, hospitals, or medical centres. The police personnel were out there in the rain, doing their duty sincerely, but even they had no information about alternate routes. Not one person could guide us. And this was on a Sunday morning no office rush, no school traffic. If such chaos cannot be managed on the easiest day of the week, what does it say about the planning and the mindset behind hosting such events? I have seen marathons in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Delhi, even Srinagar. Never have I seen people struggling to access basic points of commute like this. This did not feel like a sporting event it felt like a poorly thought-out attempt to imitate big-city optics, while ignoring ground realities. Even basic issues like road conditions remain unaddressed, yet we aim for high-profile showcases. A marathon is not just about blocking roads for runners. It demands planning, infrastructure, coordination, and above all, sensitivity towards the people who live in the city. Today, J&K Government and Jammu Administrators did not just struggle with event management it failed its own people. A 21 KM Marathon in Jammu with the route chosen today is an ill conceived sporting idea. Hope @OmarAbdullah Sahab had a great run. A Glimpse

While we condemn the attack on Farooq Abdullah sahab and question the security lapse, we have direct questions for the CM @OmarAbdullah Why has he compromised security of senior opposition leaders? Snatching of the house of former CM Mehbooba ji, who doesn’t have her own house, was an attempt to murder by government, yet the CM has deliberately ignored her entitlement after elections. Security is insurance in J&K, non-negotiable. When 90 MLAs are engaged in safeguarding the nation cause, security cannot be compromised. The CM must answer why Sajad Lone was served notice to vacate and @JmuKmrPolice must explain why PCC Chiefs Tariq Qarra’s security was downgraded.
