@1rosieleft True this argument is really difficult when you genuinely think animals shouldn’t be slaughtered/exploited… people just don’t gaf. Funny how a few will draw the line at products being animal tested but not when it comes to their plate.

I found a similar thing when talking about inner city food deserts. A lot of animal rights activists take the argument of ‘many people physically can’t access fresh fruit and veg’ as an argument to shut down animal activism instead of an argument to *spark* economic activism

Judging from the comments it seems that a lot of vegans take ‘exploitation exists throughout our entire economic food system and thus focusing solely on animal agriculture in a capitalist society will never properly address the problem’ as an argument to eat more meat. Somehow.

the cashew industry is as exploited as the meat industry but instead of it harming and abusing animals it abuses and exploits human beings. a lot of vegan influencers and vegan outlets push cashews to be an alternative to dairy for making vegan cheese, milk, etc.
