Buying low on guys who are hurt feels like a multi-facet strategic move and you can’t fault teams for that. Benching healthy starters to blow games is something else and the league should start looking at how to punish Utah.

To determine the tanking start date, I choose the day Lauri Markkanen misses consecutive games due to illness. This is not meant to accuse anybody of lying, just an event on the calendar which annually leads to similar trends across the league.

This NBA tanking season (90) will last 40 days longer than the most famous tank battle in human history: the Battle of Kursk (50). You all are not prepared for how many bad teams’ starting fives are going to get debilitating sniffles soon.

Always thought the most fun part of rebuilds (or eras) is the first season or two when the team gets the first taste of success. After that, it’s chasing expectations until you realize they aren’t going to get it done. Then the hard part of breaking up the team you love happens.
