Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first INDIAN-AMERICAN Senator. She has also identified as a black woman due to her father's Jamaican heritage. She went to a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). Many Jamaican people have Western African roots. Thus, Kamala Harris is attempting to claim a "American Descendants of Slavery" (ADOS) heritage. One problem: Kamala Harris' Jamaican family is directly descended from slave owners, according to the Irish Times. "Genealogical research carried out by Northern Irish historian Stephen McCracken reveals Ms Harris’s four-times-paternal-great-grandfather Hamilton Brown was born in Co Antrim in 1776, the year of the US Declaration of Independence." He opposed the abolition of slavery across the British Empire in 1832 and went to Antrim to replace his slaves with workers from his native county." The entire point of this is not to dwell on identity politics, but to highlight that it is not a qualification to become President of the United States. Furthermore, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accidentally exposes how hollow identify politics really are if they boil down to self-identification. So, can white people identify as black? Can black people identify as white? Can Latinos identify as Irish? Can Irish people identify as Latinos? Can men identify as women? Can women identify as men? There is no objectivity to it, which is the entire point. Of course, people are free to identify however they want to. But the problem arises when we are told to deny reality without objective evidence. What's the point of identity politics, if not to cause mass confusion? And to sow social division? If we cannot agree on objective definitions for social identity then it becomes a weapon in the hands of whoever wields it. That is why the best definition for all of us would simply be 'human being.' The truth is KJP would have accused Donald Trump of being racially insensitive no matter what he said. It's the Democratic Party's entire schtick and it has nothing to do with promoting policies that are good for the entire United States of America. It is a divide-and-conquer strategy. Nothing more. There is a simple rejoinder to all of the Democratic Party's accusations: Were all Americans better off under Donald Trump or Joe Biden? The rest is just noise and distractions.
