#Boxing Roy is absolutely right when he says most people don’t understand what they’re trying to do. The boxing community should be in an uproar over what is happening and univocally condemning it - esp with the amendment to the Ali Act! But boxers themselves and the community is silent by and large and I think it’s because they don’t truly understand what is happening. By the time boxing fans and boxers themselves get what Zuffa is trying to do they would have already created a UBO (United boxing organization) and monopolized boxing and made it into the UFC. Roy is right, it will be too late! Dana White and Turkey recognized that boxing was easy to overtake and proved ppl right now that the industry is not really trying to stop them. When it becomes like the UFC I don’t want to hear any boxers complaining about poor pay with no other options and the community crying becuase they did NOTHING to stop it when they could have. This all seems like it’s cool now esp for new boxers but it’s like when Netflix took everyone in at $11/month to get folks hooked and then gradually uncharged and now we’re paying $30. Zuffa is making it seem sweet now to hook fighters and fans but once they MONOPOLIZE, fighters will be paid PENNIES (like UFC fighters) and have no other response place to go to make more money for a fight because the other promoters will be DEAD. Mark my words. If folks don’t stop them now this will be the future of boxing. Manager and CEO of the boxing org will be the same person. They will force the best fights but the biggest fighters won’t make the kind of money they make now or what they’re actually worth
