@jqckietaylor ok thats all Thank u for reading. TLDR: Ya its hard as fuck to find community because of Multiple reasons, including violence and government regimes. But its important to find community anyways, cuz marginalized groups Need to stick together so we can survive against oppression

@jqckietaylor i actually agreed with you, but its seeking community in *spite* of these environments that matters most. Its in areas where being visible brings the most risk that you need to find community in order to protect one another in a violent regime.

@jqckietaylor (the rest of my tweet got cut off..) but there are queer communities that exist in spite of (and often times in direct response to) oppression, and the only way you will be able to find them is by seeking them out. Sorry for the spam >_< i tried to compress as much as i could

@jqckietaylor i think its very presumptuous to assume bc ppl come from the west that the struggle of being punished by death for queerness is foreign to *all* of us. bc it isnt! i recently watched the stroll, a documentary about trans sw’s working in the meatpacking district. but

i understand for many, esp young queers, how easy it is to jump on the “i cant bc (insert rural area/disability/mental illness)” sentiment. But it’s ESPECIALLY in these settings that community is found. merchant street SWs took care of one another because no one else would

and then there are some who are very resistant towards it of course but there are also people who genuinely need guidance because They Have No Queer People To Rely On

i strongly agree i do think theres a subsection of queers online that have quite literally never experienced anything outside of their online spaces for various reasons.. but then theres a portion who really cant.. a matter of survival
