For T-Mobile do this but it requires payment for the method that I use. It works for blacklisted devices/stolen devices/unpaid and paid bills also
First check the device financial status if fully paid, or not paid. If its fully paid price is often half of not paid.

Let me share a hack: If the locked phone is more than 3yrs old (from production date), you can easily unlock it without paying a kobo. Go to the website of the carrier it’s locked on, look for “unlock device”, enter your IMEI, and wait for 72hours. Your phone will be unlocked.

Blacklisted imei won’t work
Imei with debt won’t work
Reported stolen imei won’t work
But there are some 3rd party app that can unlock it sha but very expensive
