Aussie PMIs are not generally much of a market mover - though they're worth a look once in a while. Despite the weakness across manufacturing and services in February, their 12-month averages continue to trend higher overall and cut through the monthly noise. Wednesday's CPI is of course the main event. It won't capture the recent oil spikes - but it doesn't need to if inflationary pressures persist. And it looks like they probably will.

A bit of a mixed AU employment report, with unemployment rising alongside participation, full-time jobs lower yet headline (boosted by part-time) increasing. This data set alone seems unlikely to deter the RBA from hiking again in May if inflation continues to misbehave. The only reason they weren't more hawkish was due to Middle East - which is the greater unknown for central banks at the moment.
