Poland was a colony of the Russian Empire for centuries. They became independent only thanks to the collapse of the USSR. His entire lineage never really fought or resisted — they obediently bowed to the Russian tsar and served him. Poles act so brave today because, standing behind Ukrainian soldiers, they can bark like a chihuahua at a doberman.
