@RavensTalkPod Any new optimism on an ext this offseason preferably soon after Doyle’s comments yesterday ?
English

@RavensTalkPod Just feels like Lamar doesn’t want to sign long term and has an eye towards 28 free agency ? What’s your thoughts

For the second straight year, Baltimore is unable to negotiate a contract extension for Lamar Jackson.
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
Ravens have reworked the contract of Lamar Jackson, as @AKinkhabwala also reported. Sources say the restructure with Jackson creates about $40 million in salary cap space for the 2026 season. It’s similar to what Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen have done this offseason for their teams.
English

@jeffzrebiec I can’t help but think Lamar simply doesn’t want to sign here long term. No excuse to not have it done in my opinion. Win win to do it and he chooses not to. Any concern he has an eye towards 28 free agency ?

This from Brian on why it will now be harder to extend Lamar Jackson this offseason after restructure
Brian McFarland@RavensSalaryCap
Basically, his cap number went down with the restructure, but will go up if an extension is reached because of a new signing bonus for the extension, so they will have to set aside some of the savings from the restructure to accommodate the increase from an extension.

@jeffzrebiec That’s why I asked but that’s what I’m hopeful for. I also have alot of concerns about Kliff. What’s your thoughts on him? He feels most likely due to apparent Lamar / WR support but I do think there’s reason for concern there.
English

@c_legg Not sure how tied in he is with Payton and I’m not convinced he won’t get a HC job this yr. Would he leave when he’s already getting heavy HC interest as a PGC? Not sure

The Ravens’ hiring of Jesse Minter felt like a nod to their defensive past. But more than anything, it was affirmation of what the organization has always believed in. nytimes.com/athletic/69935…

@jeffzrebiec I hope 8 was the one that went to Bischotti’s house. Need him happy with the trajectory of things before negotiations.

As we prepare for tonight’s battle, which could be the last between Harbaugh and Tomlin. We turn to the book of revelations and the story about the final battle for humanity. Revelations 19:11 -“Then I saw heaven opened,[a] and behold, a white horse! The One riding on it is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and many royal crowns are on His head. He has a name written that no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood,[b] and the name by which He is called is “the Word of God.”
The ravens must be faithful and true to their identity of running the ball, they must feed the ball to the one who wears the crown. The word of the lord, amen.

@jeffzrebiec I just hope the odds are in his favor he’s back which they should be but I don’t think him being gone should even be a discussion for either side. An extension soon would be nice but I’m sure it will be a headache than it should be
English

@jeffzrebiec The season isn’t over and I’m already fatigued of Preston and national media regarding Lamar and trades etc. Would you say he’s a near lock to be back ? So I can just tune out the nonsense lol.
English

@DaZeke2 If they lose or Steelers win Sunday, yeah, absolutely no point to have him play again this season.
English

@jeffzrebiec That’s why I was curious your thoughts. Kept tabs on your reporting on the Likely situation in offseason. Felt eventually it would happen. Even thought price may go down with how the year has went. The news today shocked me as far as going forward.
English

@c_legg I think priority initially was to extend Likely. I’ve said that since offseason. They weren’t trying to extend Andrews this offseason. They were trying to extend Likely. But they never could agree to deal and they wanted to keep one of them.
English

The Ravens have agreed to a three-year contract extension with TE Mark Andrews, the franchise's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and TDs.
@MikeGarafolo, who was first on agreement, reports that it's a three-year, $39.3 extension with $26 million guaranteed.
English

@jeffzrebiec That’s unfortunate because I think that’s what we truly need to move the needle. Holding out hope for that.
English

@c_legg Not sure. Sounds like there isn't much in the way of IDL available. But that or a guard would be the preference
English

Ravens were in on a number of edge rushers and they'll land Jones. He is having arguably the best season of his 7-year career. He has 4 ½ sacks in nine games this year. Jones’ 19 quarterback pressures are seven more than any Raven currently has.
Jeff Zrebiec@jeffzrebiec
The fifth-round pick that the Ravens are sending to the Titans for OLB Dre’Mont Jones will most likely be the one Baltimore got from Jets during ‘25 Draft.
