@TRobinsonNewEra @IronTrinityltd This is a message of tolerance, which seems wise on the face of it, but our country is a mess because our tolerance and our weakness was our downfall.

A stranger confronted me at the airport. The reaction might surprise you.
Instead of carrying someone else's anger, this conversation with @IronTrinityltd explores how faith teaches us to respond with peace, forgiveness, and strength.
Watch now.

@Telegraph Oh a new tax that's a new idea!
How about stopping waste first?
English

A new tax on income to fund social care is among the plans drawn up by officials for Andy Burnham to consider in his first weeks in office.
Civil servants have developed proposals that would require workers to make mandatory contributions to a new privately managed fund to pay for their care in later life.

We are aware of posts circulating online that claim French law enforcement are failing to prevent small boat Channel crossings.
UK-French cooperation has already stopped over 46,000 attempted crossings since the election.
In May alone, 65% of all small boat events were stopped despite soaring temperatures, which have historically led to increased crossings.
But we know there is more to do.
That is why the Home Secretary has signed a landmark new payment by results deal with France to boost enforcement action on beaches and put people smugglers behind bars.
On top of the 46,000 crossing attempts prevented, removals of small boat migrants are at record levels and asylum claims are down by 12%.
We have also removed or deported almost 70,000 people who were here illegally – an increase of 41% – and are going further to remove the incentives that draw illegal migrants to this country.

@ukhomeoffice You know there is actual videos right? Not just a worded post? There is months, YEARS, of the French doing this.

This is so pathetic.
Zack Polanski accepted a collaboration request with about 20 pictures in it.
One of the final pictures included the offending t-shirt.
All the others were innocuous campaign pics.
When Polanski realised, he untagged himself.
As anyone can see on his Instagram, he mass accepts collaboration requests. (He should stop doing that).
Meanwhile, Farage and his party turned Lucy Connolly - who tweeted overt racist incitement - into a free speech martyr.
Personally, I don’t support arresting and locking up people for tweets.
But Farage is a massive raging hypocrite who is trying to deflect from his £5 million gift from a foreign crypto billionaire - and the donations from a convicted fraudster.
And unlike Farage, I’ve actually been a victim of political violence.
He had a milkshake thrown at him, I was beaten up by a neo-Nazi.

Nigel Farage@Nigel_Farage
Polanski must face the consequences of his appalling decisions. He has not even apologised.

Jodrell Bank is the most visible causality of UKRI’s short sighted ‘vision’ for science, but as you’ll see below, there are many other valuable UK facilities and collaborations at risk. We became aware of the problem in the autumn of last year. It is not a result of the overall funding settlement for science after the spending review, which was quite generous I would say in the circumstances. Neither as far as we can tell is it a direct decision by ministers (all of whom have now gone in any case). Rather the problems appears to have been caused by senior management at UKRI focusing on short term economic ‘impact’ (whatever that means) rather than doing their job as custodians of the foundations of science. What must happen now is that the new ministerial team make the time (and space ;-)) to review the upcoming catastrophe, and instruct UKRI to do their job and focus on making Britain the best place in the world to do science, now and in the future.

The announced closure of the UK's largest telescope at Jodrell Bank is only a small part of the cuts in UK physics

It’s literally not rained for a month in southern England, and the Westminster press corps just spent weeks saying Ed Miliband is bad because he takes climate change seriously.
We are almost certainly in the foothills of really significant changes to everyday life.

Remember: ordinary families live in £900,000 houses…
Thanks for the reality check!
Sarah Vine@WestminsterWAG
So much for @andyburnham being a ‘prime minister for everyone’ This will cripple ordinary families. £900k for three beds in shepherds bush is at the bottom end of the market. An equivalent rental is about 3-4k. These aren’t the super rich he’s punishing, it’s working families. People won’t be able to afford to live in their homes.
