Vancouver cops are calling border enforcement more than ever. VPD immigration status checks have spiked 80%. At particular risk are migrants who are unhoused, those who can’t afford transit fare, sex workers, drivers apprehended during traffic stops. defactomedia.ca/vpd-immigratio…

Missing from the convo about rising “hate” in Toronto is that we don’t count the routine police beatings, dog maulings, home raids, and killings of Black and Indigenous folks as “hate crimes” because that would require a reckoning with the nature of policing in this country.

front pages of three major US papers today. none mentions in headline that destroying “a whole civilization” is a war crime, a genocide and a crime against humanity. To reporters and editors who wrote these headlines, grow some spine and stop whitewashing Trump’s actions.

I think it’s wrong to say Iranians fear nothing. I’m sure they feel fear like the rest of us. What they show, however, is courage and bravery – something that has been bought out and pacified in large part in the imperial core

Bro 😭 Iranians 🇮🇷 are literally vibing in the nuclear power plant city of Bushehr which Donald Trump has threatened to blow up. These people fear absolutely nothing 👏

Keep in mind that @UofT has passed draconian anti-protest policies. Even drawing with chalk could have students face expulsion and police. The policy states “There are consequences for violating University policies, including the guidance on peaceful protests above: Engaging in these prohibited activities can result in consequences under law and U of T policies, including arrest, suspension, trespass from property, and expulsion.” viceprovoststudents.utoronto.ca/student-polici…

In 2024 @UofT refused to divest from weapons companies complicit in the #GazaGenocide saying this was “taking sides”. Now, they're sponsoring CANSEC @CadsiCanada – one of North America's biggest weapons fairs – that regularly features weapons manufacturers and governments accused of human rights abuses, including involvement in the genocide in Palestine. They won’t take a stand against war crimes and genocide, but they’ll pay to be a part of the war machine. And students who protest this on campus face threats, discipline, and police. There is nothing neutral about any of it. Shame on UofT.

BREAKING: We’ve shut down all access to CANSEC, North America’s largest arms fair. This is where the weapons devastating Rafah right now are being sold. Where Israeli military reps are trying to justify their genocide. No one is getting into this arms fair here in Ottawa today.

Everywhere we see how anti-migrant racism and dehumanization is the central pillar for growing fascist rhetoric, legislated violence, and carceral power. To be anti-fascist today is to be anti-border.
