You can argue macro theory all day or you can look at the execution log. The system works if you stick to it. My performance in TECL and TQQQ since Jan ‘22. Drop a comment if you’re running leveraged tech. 👇

@Jeremybtc Some people just weren’t blessed with the gene that drives ambition and motivated pursuit of large long term goals. It’s hard, we’re evolved to seek easy. It takes those of us willing to embrace the discomfort modern society mitigates to pus the world forward.

Genuine question, how can people work a 9-5 their entire life, make $50k a year and feel okay about it?

you could literally - put $100k in a bank paying 9% interest - live off the $6,000/month interest payment why are people not doing this

Don't go chasing waterfalls. Stick to the coastal highways and the classic Chevys you're used to. 🌊🚗💨

@brandonkindred @thesayannayak But of course it’s all moot due to the talent pool. It’s an artisanal/craftsmans language now. I imagine it’s if it’s the studio of a master carpenter. Lots of tools, each with a specific purpose and use, but quite a few whose purpose will only ever be known to the woodworker.

@cachemiss_2 @thesayannayak That's an org failure. Those orgs have the same outcome no matter what language they use. I've seen the same story with most mainstream languages too. I agree about the dwindling talent pool. It's really too bad because it's an incredibly useful language.

Yeah totally agree, but most companies a. Won’t have the experience to have this foresight or b. Won’t have the money to facilitate it or c. Will hire and not empower someone to manage it all. Or d. all of the above. Perl is what you get when you give a genius too many tools and no supervision. Capable beyond belief, flexible, and beautifully brilliant in the hands of the master…until you have to read someone else’s version of it. It’s a chaos gremlin.

@brandonkindred @thesayannayak Yeah for sure, I’ve been there as well, but unless you have really tight controls (most companies don’t) then the more than on way to do it benefit becomes a massive inconsistency jsshe, huge cognitive load, and then the talent pool is dwindling at best. Near extinct at worse.

@cachemiss_2 @thesayannayak Perl is great and I've worked at companies where it was the backbone of their product. It definitely works at scale it you use it right

Man, you’re talking about our entire country right now. It’s all trash. Some places more than others. I’ll actually be in Vegas this weekend, always sad to see the state of casinos today, one armed bandits with addicts pissing themselves because they can’t leave the machine for more than a minute.

@cachemiss_2 @danielgothits Brother, I love your state. I want it to come back to its original glory. Just stop denying it’s a shithole so it can return to what it once was. Or not & watch it fall further.

I left LA and my cortisol levels are down like 99% and I’m happier than I’ve been in years lol Seriously apart from my friends I can’t think of a single positive thing about that place Just the most demonic crime-ridden sprawling soulless city of all time

@cachemiss_2 @danielgothits I love it when Californians post beautiful pics of their gorgeous state that had such immense potential but NPCs walk around piles of human shit, dying addicts, burned-out neighborhoods, crumbing infrastructure … but hey, here’s a great sunset!

Retired at 39 and I wasn’t boring boring. My wife and I planned and set a budget for enjoyment. We didn’t like the idea of scrimping and saving to the point of misery, and we do some wild stuff! Built a burning man art car, which was probably the biggest flaming pit you could possibly throw money to, but it was within budget, and we had an amazing time. One that helped shape how we view retirement. Don’t be boring, be disciplined.

If you want to retire early, here’s honest advice: be boring for a very long time. No exciting purchases, no lifestyle upgrades, just quiet consistency while everyone else “enjoys life.”
