@ellysmelancholy Yeah, for sure. Just last year we had maybe half of the cast of marty supreme and Tania Maria (secret agent).

@cacmrg I'd probably need to see some examples before weighing in too much, but I imagine it's similar to what can happen in some arts. The longer you do something, the bigger a star you are, the less motivation you might have to commit to a performance

One thing i have been doing a lot is what i call “thinking.” Today i spent three hours outside with no phone or music. Just smoking in silence and “thinking.”

@cacmrg Not sure about specific writings today, but I really adore the Guerrilla Girls! Their visual work critiquing the art world still feels pretty spot on.

I recommend every woman to read this masterpiece of an essay. Linda Nochlin explains perfectly why most women are not “good artists.”

Important to note some shifts since 1971. Women are no longer absent from the art world or art education. In fact, women now make up roughly 60–70% of students in many art institutions. The issue today isn’t participation but recognition. Women are still significantly underrepresented in major museum collections, gallery rosters, and the upper tiers of the art market. So while the core of Nochlin’s argument about structural barriers still holds, the dynamic looks very different now.
