That is false. The decision to cancel John’s talk was done independently by the Scalar team, without external pressure from VirtusLab. We’ve defended John in the past, and I think it was the right thing to do, when he was the victim. Once he became the attacker, things changed. Make no mistake: it was a decision we never wanted to make, but was needed; also because of the integrity you mentioned. John’s constant simmering, aimed only at dividing the community continues especially strongly recently, with half-truths and bad-will misinterpretations. Which just confirms that what we did was right. Going forward the only reasonable course of action seems to be to continue doing our job, which we are commited to as strongly as ever. I truly aim to make programming in Scala a world-class experience.
