@im_s1n @fl0m would be nice but would also hurt some teams in regions that just dont have many lan opportunities or teams like m80 (or older NA Liquid) that mostly play in EU outside of qualifiers.

@fl0m What about 15 lan matches, in that region? Meaning teams like passion and liquid have to play in NA lans and help develop the region they choose to be apart of. Not just pulling the title for a major spot cause it's easier and cheaper.

I won’t lie I’m excited to see malbs in a liquid jersey. That being said I do feel like 5 matches makes it way too easy to just region swap before a major and is just a flaw in VRS. Curious what people think. Should it just be more matches played with the team or something else entirely to switch regions?

I just came across this nostalgic image taken from THE VERY FIRST play session for Counter-Strike BETA1. Notice how awful our pings were... This was peak dial-up internet back in 1999. The map is cs_mansion.

@everyoneislier @Mauisnake they are all funded by either direct sponsorships or by PE/VC on the speculation that the brand value will be worth something. everything else is people scrapping for prize pool money that mostly goes directly to players and if you are successful enough sticker money from majors

@Mauisnake Correct me if I'm wrong, but no esports organization is truly profitable with these insane player salaries unless they have massive financial backing from gambling or betting websites. Honestly, I believe many organizations survive on revenue from matchfixing..

Massively disappointing that a Complexity which has qualified for 4 consecutive Majors and been involved with partner programs still can't stay afloat. Speaks heavily to the state of CS from the NA side, brutal.

@JasonBWLake I don't think it's fair for you to say you failed us. You were a major driving force in trying to keep things domestically in place. I just wish others followed and there was more behind it from other businesses and organizations. You are a real one Jason.

@chococstrike @DAVEYCS2 How is this different than Bryce Harper or LeBron as teens? People are so analytical now we can all sniff out statistical anomalies and make predictions. These teams even in esports are dumping millions into rosters, the stakes are high, so the pressure feels appropriate no?

donk might actually become the greatest cs2 rifler of all time. This is not just a player who's good at putting his crosshair on people's heads, his timing and movement is incredible. The kid moves like niko when entrying, he's 16 years old. His next team move will be career defining. Spirit is a great team, and if they start challenging for tier 1 events in the next year then fair enough maybe he'll stay. If they don't though, and he needs to move on, picking the right team/igl will determine everything.

@CounterStrike A lot of these issues would have been preventable from making it into release just by launching the game and running around for just a couple of minutes.

@CounterStrike Movement broken, skins broken, ak sound is awful, who qa tests these updates? Does valve not have a full dev team for these updates validating things after making changes?

@CounterStrike I get that counter-strike is an intricate game with features and interactions, but you should still be able to sanity test basic functionality of core features or narrow down tests for someone to manually check based off of what is being updated.
