@ClubAmeric38259 @DanAV___ a) it just says ‘high’, it’ll be a 6 in london tomorrow
b) they’ve rescheduled it to 12 local, cloud with significantly less humidity than the original kickoff
English

@cainvande @DanAV___ Shit imagine that, we have a UV index of 7 that’s very high even on the day we’re getting storms so bad a World Cup game has to be rescheduled and y’all still want to underestimate the sun at high elevation? Lmao
Like I said no comparison to a UV of 4 even if it’s the same temp

@HerrHaynes @nowhere_lili @AnnaK_4ever you’re exhibiting the same ‘contempt’ the OP was accusing doubles players of having. it isn’t cute. if doubles were easy, singles players who often play it to get in form would beat them every time. it’s a different thing and it demands some respect for that, among other, reasons
English

@nowhere_lili @AnnaK_4ever Ahhhhhhhh hahaha You’re twitter gimmick is doubles tennis!!!!!
OMG I’m dying. You not only follow it, but fanboy and travel and pay to see it 😂
Bless your simple heart for supporting the lesser players who can’t compete in real tennis.
You truly are one if a kind 🥰
English

The level of entitlement mixed with contempt for singles players is something else.
"We've been freeloading for years — why is it unsustainable?"
"Nobody buys tickets to watch Shelton or Zverev"
"Why has someone like Brooksby already earned $500K this season?"

@tanya_ghosh15 @juanrg_1201 @vanshv2k the wimbledon quarters i was talking about was 2024, where she played a great match but lost to krejcikova. she also just reached the eastbourne semifinals (but had to retire because of heatstroke).
i’m not her fan i just don’t think she’s irrelevant outside of clay
English

@cainvande @juanrg_1201 @vanshv2k Bro if you’re referring to 2017-2020 Penko, that’s a whole different person. Not only did she have slam potential (& she obviously won RG) but that was the worst period the wta has had in the last 40yrs. Quite literally the weakest, transition gen post Serena retiring
English

@mmaknowsitall at every tournament, unless there’s a home player, crowds will cheer whoever will make a match go another set so they have more excitement and a longer experience for the cost of their ticket
English

@AnnaK_4ever i don’t know, masters are already extending their tournaments to two weeks for no good reason except more profit, and it’s seriously lessening viewer enjoyment. cutting doubles prize money on top of that just seems miserly
English

Wow. I can't believe ATP finally decided to take steps with regards to men's doubles.
According to Roger-Vasselin, the proposal is to reduce doubles draws to 16 at M1000s and to 8 at 500/250s, with overall doubles $$$ pool also shrinking as result.
Doubles specialists not happy.

@tanya_ghosh15 @juanrg_1201 @vanshv2k penko reached the quarters a couple of years ago and lost to the eventual champion in a tight two setter. has also reached the quarters and semis there once before each prior to that
English

@juanrg_1201 @vanshv2k Ostapenko when she’s not on clay is entirely irrelevant bro. Thats not a tough draw. Osaka is a good opponent but a mental midget. Everybody’s draw becomes hard from the QF onwards, so no… this ain’t it
English

@tennisqueeniga @blairvivier @josemorgado this whole ‘tired from pre-slam tournament’ shtick is funny considering iga was in the bad homburg SFs last year and won wimbledon. surely she should’ve been too tired. right?
if you can’t admit saba has a difficult draw, you’re not even trying to be objective about things
English

@cainvande @blairvivier @josemorgado How? Raducanu injured, Penko tired from playing Eastbourne, Osaka and Muchova tired from playing Bad Hamburg, Mirra just lost R1. As usual Aryna has a cakewalk till SF.
English

@blairvivier @josemorgado sabalenka/andreeva’s quarter is by far the hardest this slam lol
English

@josemorgado I just don’t understand, why is iga getting tje hardest draw everytime…?
English

@LiamSota @alfie_t8 by what metrics? living standards, productivity, investment, and unemployment are all shit & it’s impossible to argue the economy isn’t smaller than if we hadn’t left.

@Tennis1062045 @ToddScoullar @tennisalt she lost to #113 harmony tan in R1 of wimbledon four years ago, and has played zero singles matches on grass since then. i want her to do well too but be realistic lol
English

@ToddScoullar @tennisalt Yeah a 23 time grand slam champion will last 90 minutes…please, she can beat anyone outside the top 20.
English

The weirdest thing about all this Serena talk, is people saying it’s a great thing because she’ll sell tickets… 😳
In what world is Wimbledon ever struggling to sell tickets?
People sleep out overnight to buy them.
Demand is just fine.
Wimbledon@Wimbledon
This is not a drill. @serenawilliams will compete in the 2026 ladies' singles at #Wimbledon as a wild card.
English

@kritisanonfan24 @kimicaraz in terms of seeded players. keys beat collins, rybakina, svitolina, swiatek & saba. two top 5 wins, two top 10 wins and a top 30 win.
ryba beat mertens, swiatek , pegula & saba. two top 5 wins, one top 10 win and a top 30 win.
imo, keys’ run is more (or comparably) impressive
English

@kimicaraz Why she don't deserve?
She had won AO by beating both Sabalenka & Swiatek.
Her AO run is the toughest GS run since 2020.
And she won WTA finals by beating best players.

@VolleyBstuff @9ashtray @TheTennisLetter After yesterday’s total washout, what should they have done? It doesn’t have anything to do with the director’s wishes, the tournament needs to finish by Sunday. The way they scheduled the matches today is nothing new whatsoever if you’re familiar with tennis
English

@cainvande @9ashtray @TheTennisLetter Including tournament director, evidently. We know. Otherwise they wouldn’t have scheduled that match in the evening when its damp. And only one of them is unsure about that and keeps checking the ground.
English

@9ashtray @TheTennisLetter cope. in a british 500, i’m sure there were a lot more people who actually watched the match, even online, that wanted katie to win over elena lmao
