Glentoran Social Partnership has marked what would have been the birthday of Maura Muldoon by delivering 184 hot meals to children, families and pensioners across East Belfast during the half term break.
Funded by Trustee Cheryl Lamont in Maura’s memory, the meal drive ensured vital support reached those who needed it most. Since relaunching in October 2025, more than 1500 meals have now been delivered in the local community.
A meaningful tribute that turned Maura’s belief in action beyond football into real impact.

@GlentoranWomen_ When they talk of legends, there is none to compare. A fantastic example to young girls at every stage of their playing career.

Earlier this week representatives from Glentoran attended 'More Than The Game' showcase at Parliament Buildings.
It was powerful to stand alongside fellow Northern Ireland Football League clubs and demonstrate the real impact football has beyond the pitch - strengthening communities, supporting wellbeing, growing the women’s game and driving local economic value.
With over 40 MLAs and MPs in attendance, and contributions from voices across the game including our own Colin Jess representing the club and the Glentoran Social Partnership - the message was clear: football in Northern Ireland is more than the game.
Clubs like ours are proud to serve as community anchors across the region and we’re committed to continuing that work for the people we represent.
