I think there’s a real chance Luka is heavily limited here after sustaining a calf injury just 5 days ago. The stigma around the league right now is to not rush calf injuries, especially after what we saw in the playoffs. He is expected to play, but I think he’ll be limited. We saw the same thing with Reaves who returned from a calf strain and played just 22 minutes, 11 1H minutes. The Lakers are going to be cautious with their best player. This game screams LeBron. LeBron started the season pretty slow, mostly due to recovering from an injury of his own. But since the game his 10+ point streak got broken, he’s just been on a tear. 26.8 PPG in that span. The Rockets are a good defense, but they switch a lot and stay in zone. LeBron can tear up that mid range area where zone is soft against, outside of spot ups. The Lakers don’t really have many spot up options so that’s where you’d like to target. Also, could very well be his last Christmas game. He’s played in one practically his whole career. Obviously taken a step back this season, but averages 28.2 PPG on Christmas as a Laker. We saw last season, James score 31 against Steph. Guys like Steph and KD are guys he just likes to play.

Luka just has so much gravity as a 40 PPG player. Opens up a lot on drives for dump offs and lobs. Atlanta is the 5th worst PnR Roll Man defense in the league, and are the 9th worst RA defenses Ayton should have his way. I don’t really believe in Porzingis as a great interior defender. Last time Ayton matched up against Porzingis, Ayton put up 36 PR.
