Just two months before the United States, #Canada and #Mexico are to complete the joint review of their trade agreement, the California Chamber of Commerce has written to encourage the California congressional delegation to support the original July 1 review deadline of the pact. The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (#USMCA), which took effect on July 1, 2020, has created a stable and certain commercial environment that reinforces strong economic ties and enhances North American competitiveness in the global market — thereby ensuring North American economic security, which leads to geopolitical security. #NorthAmericaTrade #TradeAgreement #InternationalTrade calchamberalert.com/2026/05/01/cal…

📃A recent analysis from @californiapuc found that customers without rooftop solar pay $8.5B every year on their electric bills—subsidizing customers who have rooftop solar systems. This adds an extra $440 annually to every non-solar customer’s bill—primarily low-income families, seniors and renters. Learn More: bit.ly/4u9JoY2

The campaign in support of the YES on the Building an Affordable California Act (@AffordableCAAct) has begun submitting nearly 1 million signatures to county elections officials across California—more than enough to qualify the measure for the November 2026 statewide ballot. “California voters are frustrated that it takes too long and costs too much to build the basic projects we need,” said CalChamber President and CEO @CalChamberJen. “From #housing and #energy to water and wildfire prevention, our outdated way of doing things is driving up costs and holding California back. The Building an Affordable California Act will cut red tape, reduce delays, and help deliver the projects Californians need—faster and more affordably—while maintaining strong environmental protections.” The campaign has a broad and growing coalition of some 100 supporters — including affordable housing advocates, civil rights organizations, clean energy leaders, water providers, agricultural groups, and business organizations. #BuildingAnAffordableCalifornia #AffordableCA #CEQA #Infrastructure #NovemberBallot calchamberalert.com/2026/05/01/aff…

A California Senate committee has rejected a deeply flawed plan to change the state’s #antitrust laws, one that would trigger sweeping consequences for businesses and consumers alike and was identified as a Cost Driver on CalChamber’s annual Affordability Agenda. CalChamber and a coalition of business sector opponents made clear that the bill would have a chilling effect on the development of new platforms designed to meet the demands of California consumers and small businesses. #AffordabilityAgenda #CostDrivers #SB1074 #AntitrustLaws advocacy.calchamber.com/2026/04/22/law…
