Put on a slightly ridiculous elf costume with glitter, mild bedazzling, and suddenly…you’re royalty. Absolute princess status. These littles don’t just hype you up, they remind you to be silly, loud, and fully yourself. They’re really, really good for my heart.

All the emotions this week — watching some of my former 5th grade kiddos take their Graduation Walk, and then walking my own baby through their 5th Grade Walk. My heart is so full. I love these kids something fierce.

There is nothing like a midday costume change. I loved reading and writing with the littles. Throw a Christmas Tree costume on, and you are the coolest person in the room. 🎄

When your people fill your bucket🙌🏻 I am lucky enough to work with the best teachers and even luckier to call them friends. ❤️

My 16 years in education have primarily been spent as a 5th grade teacher. In my new role, I have had the opportunity to spend a LOT of time in kinder and 1st. Let me just say, there is a special place in heaven for those K-1 teachers. 😇#therealMVPs

My heart is full. I can’t wait to kick off the school year with our phenomenal staff and rockstar students. Best. Year. Ever.

This is my favorite tradition in Comal. Getting to see your kids walk the halls one last time before they graduate is the best. I loved hearing about all their plans and laughing about memories from when they were 5th graders.

I'm excited to announce that I'll be moving into a new role next school year! I look forward to supporting and learning from our fantastic staff. I can’t wait for the fun to begin! ❤️

Who says STAAR review can’t be fun?! It was the perfect recipe… games, competition, and prizes all tied into ELA skills. It was amazing watching these kiddos compete AND show off their knowledge. The room was filled with laughter and a little trash talking. 😉 ONE.TIRED.TEACHER.

Will work for food. We ended our “Lives of Animals” unit with an ECR and an animal themed snack. These kids pull out all the stops when food is involved. 🦁🐻🦍

When your students write the sweetest things, a picture is a must. Working hard for that “A”! 🤣😉

Today we color coded the parts of our extended constructed responses. Students rated their partner’s writing, and then they came to check if they rated it the same as I did. Yall… their ratings were all within a point of what I rated their pieces. Talk about ownership. BOOM.

Career Day and Our Classroom Feast My favorite part was when the students received a hand written note from a classmate telling them why they were thankful for them. The students drew names, so getting a kind letter from someone random made it that much more special! ❤️
