Shouldn't someone have to write the "Lindy West is good and actually right about everything take" in order to justify the volume of takedowns I am seeing?

@Stretchedwiener You sound like you would love the Leftovers. Only 2% of the population disappears and the entire show is about the second order consequences of that: cults forming, departments of the gov dedicated to it, insurance scams, etc.

They had to gloss over it because the honest repercussions are too horrible. A fifty percent chance of being blipped means half the cars on the highway crashing, killing passengers. A four person crewed plane? 1 out of 16 planes crash, killing all passengers. Those people don't come back. Twitchy governments thinking they are under attack by other countries and launching nukes? Power plants losing half their staff? Everyone in a panic? No replacements? The problem is that blipping half the population would result in 2nd order tragedies leading to infrastructure collapse and approx 80 percent population loss. Waves of xxxxicides. Jonestown level reactions. Those people aren't coming back. There's no recovering. A show or movie about that? Not possible. It has to be treated lightly and we can't be allowed to think about it.

In general though, he tried to approach her several times to talk about it and she would ignore him. She admitted that was really unfair.

@skunk_bucketss @Tyler_A_Harper People who date insecure people are not obligated to assume that everything their insecure partners say is a lie. If you ask them “are you okay with this?” you should be able to trust they are being honest with you about what they can handle. They are both adults.
