The Blood of Jesus makes us justified
”Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
By being justified freely by His grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, we are declared righteous before a holy God. It is not something we earn by good works, religious effort, or moral improvement - it is a gift received by faith because of what Jesus did.
Jesus's sacrifice on the cross was a single, once-for-all event that atones for the sins of humanity. His sacrifice is the ultimate and final sacrifice, making any further sacrifices unnecessary.
We are Forgiven
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7)
We are Cleansed
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
We have been declared Righteous
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
We are Justified
Much more than, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. (Romans 5:9)
It is finished - justification is not a process we work toward; it is an instant legal standing the moment we believe.
When Jesus was asked, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”
He answered clearly:
“This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
