A husband, his wife, and their four-month-old baby were killed in a road accident involving their private car (DV 9546), a fuel tanker (GN 4328-15), and a tipper truck (GT 9026-26) at Buduatta Junction on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway in the Central Region. The family was travelling from Winneba to Kasoa when their private vehicle lost control after a pickup vehicle made a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre. This led to a head-on collision with the tanker, after which a tipper truck crashed into the rear of the tanker. The husband and wife died at the scene, while the baby succumbed to injuries later at St. Gregory Catholic Hospital.

A thirty-five(35)-year old school administrator at Ridoana Comprehensive School in Atadeka, Mr. Anaglate Mends Edem Kwashie has been remanded into custody for allegedly defiling a 14-year old JHS graduate. The case reportedly stems from a report by the complainant, Lawrencia Ahorsu, an elder sister of the victim who lodged an official complaint over inappropriate Snapchat messages found on the victim’s phone that pointed to a sexual relationship between her and the 35-year old. Upon discovering the texts and questioning the 14-year old victim, she reportedly confessed to having been in an intimate encounter with the school administrator at a guesthouse she does not recall. Subsequently, prosecutors(Atadeka Police) proceeded the case to the Tema Circuit Court ‘A’ presided over by Her Honour Maame Yaa Amoakoaa Kusi Mensah, where the suspect was later remanded into custody.
