Been getting more questions than expected on these deals so sharing some personal experiences. Started angel investment during college when two of my best friends started a consumer company to make memes. I was working on Bytedance’s investment team at the time and thought it was really funny, if anyone can make a meme company work, it’d be them. Was crazy how the second round came tgt in 2 weeks or so and a16z invested. That was almost a decade ago, I realized when angel investing in someone else’s startup, the downs are equally exciting as the ups. Much less so when you are the founder. I got lucky on the second deal when my college roommate and an outstanding founder @sternzac started his first company Official, grew it to millions of users (now working on the second) and later sold it to @bumble Two years ago my good friend @lankndank , who I entered NYU Stern startup competitions with, quit IBM to co-found @floraai and build the next gen creative AI tools with Weber. Was lucky to be a first check there also, I hated that chat was the only interface for generative AI back then, just made a lot of sense there would be a canvas for fine grain control. I then got introduced to Rodeo through Zac, many crypto deals through my own network, and happened to meet some good friends like @callmeyoung93 from @openacti1 and @nicoypei from @SupernovaLabs_ or the FOMO team throughout the last cycle, which built up other pipeline deals like $BOT and $SPCX Last year when I got obsessed with the idea of a brain foundation model, I found out my good friend was working on sth similar so I made a conviction bet into [. ] More on that later) It’s always the most satisfying when my good friends start their companies, you can help each other succeed or you can fail together. It’s like league of legends. If Warren Buffett can do it with his bros in Omaha 70 years ago, you can do it anywhere.

The last major keyboard moment was in 2007, when Apple put the keyboard on glass. Nearly 20 years later, we're introducing: Acti @openacti1, the Agentic Keyboard. Not another AI keyboard that fixes grammar. Not another voice keyboard that types faster. An invisible agent in every text field. It doesn't predict your next word. It takes your next action. 👇
