If you use Laravel Cloud (or have been thinking about it), the product team wants to hear from you. We're working on some major improvements to Cloud that open up new pricing options, and your perspective matters before we finalize anything. 2-5 min survey forms.gle/Gx2LJtY8JZjZpN…

The economics on hosting side projects and small production apps are about to get dramatically better. What are you building? What does your setup look like? What pricing model actually helps you ship? That's what we're trying to learn.

Wish you could figure out where all your cloud compute costs were going? We’re granting that wish for all Laravel Cloud customers with a redesigned usage page. Drill down from org-level spend all the way to individual resource costs so you can easily understand what your organization is spending and where that spend is coming from. See the docs → cloud.laravel.com/docs/usage

☁️ We've been cooking on the Laravel Cloud UI lately, but I haven't shared much so here are some updates: While at Laracon EU, we built a lightweight file explorer for buckets. View what's in your buckets, upload and delete files all without leaving Cloud.

@taylorotwell Hey Taylor, I tried out Laravel cloud last summer for a newly released project and was a bit surprised by the first month bill. Curious if there have been any changes to the fees since. I was paying the $20/mo for a custom domain along with a pretty low spec setup at the time.

If you are running PHP applications on Heroku, we would love to find them a new home on Laravel Cloud. We can run Laravel, Symfony, and other frameworks. Auto-scaling, MySQL, Postgres, Redis, and more built-in, as well as Laravel Private Cloud for the strictest requirements. DMs open or email me at taylor at laravel.com. cloud.laravel.com
Heroku@heroku

Heroku is transitioning to a sustaining engineering model focused on stability, security, reliability, and support. Heroku remains an actively supported, production-ready platform, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and operational excellence rather than introducing new features. We know changes like this can raise questions, and we want to be clear about what this means for customers. There is no change for customers using Heroku today. Customers who pay via credit card in the Heroku dashboard—both existing and new—can continue to use Heroku with no changes to pricing, billing, service, or day-to-day usage. Core platform functionality, including applications, pipelines, teams, and add-ons, is unaffected, and customers can continue to rely on Heroku for their production, business-critical workloads. Enterprise Account contracts will no longer be offered to new customers. Existing Enterprise subscriptions and support contracts will continue to be fully honored and may renew as usual. Why this change We’re focusing our product and engineering investments on areas where we can deliver the greatest long-term customer value, including helping organizations build and deploy enterprise-grade AI in a secure and trusted way.

@hicsfh If you’d like, you can DM me your environment details (org/app/env name, or just the url to the env on cloud) and I can take a look at it in our internal dashboards to give a better recommendation.

@calschemanski Realistically speaking. Medium sized app. FrankenPHP. How much memory is needed for a worker cluster? I ran into 90% memory usage for some clusters that did minimal work. Are we supposed to run a newly bootstrapped app on just 256 or 512 mbs?

@hicsfh That said, we are also working to dial in those 90% RAM alerts. I think we are sending those on any spike, but we probably need to tune that to reduce false alarms. My apps trigger them occasionally but always go down right away and never OOM.

@hicsfh The 256MiB option is for pretty lean apps and/or dev environments. I’d recommend 512MiB and up for anything real world. Reason being, a baseline instance running PHP is around 100MiB, then every request worker is another 30MiB, then whatever your app needs on top of that.

@alexdebecker Same feeling tho! I’m still bullish on honing AI as a tool but you gotta put in the effort somewhere still. I spent time reading some docs last night after the first AI “summarize this” pass was kinda sloppy; feels great to dig in at the source when it’s a high impact area.

No amount of "AI summary" will ever beat getting your hands dirty and digging through actual customer feedback. Change my mind.

@michaeldyrynda Found it thanks! This was an issue with our billing provider's template, should be patched going forward for new invoices.

@cynthiamcgillis These parenting moments are so hilarious! You’ll be earnestly trying to explain the concept of dew point and the three states of matter to a little human that 5 minutes earlier was trying to eat a shoe. 🤦‍♂️

One of my favorite features that we announced/launched at Laracon is preview environments. With the click of a few buttons, you can have Laravel Cloud spin up new environments anytime a new PR is submitted to your repo.
