So our country does shit and it leads to gas prices soaring? America is the leading active producer of oil and by a gigantic margin. We have no supply problem. I feel like our government lies to its citizens a lot.

The pay is why the retreads are hanging around longer than ever. The money is too good so these head coaches are retiring much later in life. And teams have a ton more staff and resources so the job is easier than ever before. Something to think about.

fired guy they replaced had already built. Anyone can harvest what took years to painstakingly built and grown. That's one way head coaches can last longer in their jobs. Otherwise, we'll see more head coaches get fired - not less - as pay keeps rising.

🧵 Psychology of Firing NHL Head Coaches It is easier to fire a head coach on a $4M/yr x 3 yrs contract than one who is on a $2M/yr x 6 yrs contract. No one hands out 6 yr contracts to head coaches but I'm trying to illustrate a point about organizational psychology.
