over the last 4 months, i built @getlindy's ugc program from 0 to 100+ creators, tens of millions of views, at ~$1 CPM.
here's what i learned:
1. make everything as simple as possible
when you're managing this many people, complexity kills you.
onboarding should be frictionless. rules should be clear. payment structure should be simple.
from the moment a creator joins to the moment their first video goes live, there should be zero friction.
2. reward your creators well
there are hundreds of ugc programs out there. if you want to recruit great creators and actually keep them, you have to stand out.
that starts with compensation, so pay well from the start.
but it goes beyond money. random shoutouts, surprise bonuses, making them feel like they're part of something — that's what separates programs creators stay loyal to from ones they don’t care about.
treat them like partners, not contractors.
3. operations is the real job
i'm confident in my ability to make a viral video, but managing a ugc program means much more than just planning content.
it's sourcing creators, meeting with them regularly, answering questions, managing payouts, refining guidelines, building systems — and then doing it all again the next day.
the content is almost the easy part. keeping the program alive is where all your time actually goes.
/ in conclusion
i had a blast building this program, super grateful for the team and all the creators !
