@catwthewires LD for two years before focusing on interp but my closest friends were hella into circuit prog debate (CX or LD phil, K, theory) stuff so i'd just listen and discuss mostly

@cambrownwrites I think it backfires a little bit, since these kids treat serious (albeit flawed) theories like afropess as simply strategies in a game, so they treat related sentiments as fundamentally unserious. I’ve seen really insensitive shit from future Ivy League feeder school debaters

@hentaimaster221 i did LD for two years before i switched to speech, my circuit was pretty trad (loved a cheeky little K, which i totally ran w/o understanding) but i was on a team that travelled crazy style and did a lot of prog so i liked picking info up more than i competed with it

@kayrosso1 If wider society knew how radically and totally leftist high school debate was as an activity, it would cause some serious problems for the activity.
Right now it gets to escape controversy because most people think of high school debate as like Oxford-union style debates
