Friends who are under quarantine (like me in Czech Republic) or about to be, I'm sure many of you have stocked up on groceries for the upcoming weeks. As a professional chef I wanted to share some tips to assist you to prepare meals for the next while.

@DougSaunders If you want an interesting tour of Kitchener (Berlin) reach out. My father (and lifetime resident/ on historical society etc) does tours and can share lots about the history & growth of area

We just decided we’re quite seriously taking this journey this summer, though probably stretching it over 3 days. We’ll throw in Berlin, and pretend it didn’t change its name to Kitchener. Stay in motels, go to drive-ins

@paulaforbes Lastly, non food, Locker Barcelona off Playa Catalunya is very handy (and affordable) if you need a place to store luggage (in between hotel/rental check out and time to go to airport).

anyone have barcelona bar/restaurant recs? we love old school, we love new and fun, we don't need tasting menu recs or anything higher than 1 michelin star. whatchya got?

@paulaforbes First three are more classic tapas. Though in touristy areas I thought they were reliable and great value for money. Velodromo is great old school bar/cafe charm. Gatblau is interesting as mainly vegetarian.

@jsquaredink Do a 'quick soak'. Bring kettle of water to boil and pour over the beans for about 2 hours. If you then have a pressure cooker, cook the beans that way. Good luck.
