ELECTION DAY And the neo-fascist Reform (England) party!

I’ve been a supporter of Scottish independence for many years. But, I am saddened by the direction of travel shown by the SNP since the very capable Alex Salmond resigned as First Minister. But independence isn’t about the SNP. It’s way more existential than one political party. I will always consider myself both British and Scottish. For myself and many others, independence is not about some sort of Braveheart-tinged dislike of the English. I absolutely adore England and the English. It’s not about a desire for passports or anthems. It’s about my homeland self determining a pathway that is diametrically opposite to the grotesque shitshow on display at Westminster for many years now. Scotland has the economic capability to match the outputs of Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Finland or Sweden. But only if it is governed effectively with a real focus on harnessing the skills of the Scottish people and the business enterprise within Scotland. It should be less about being in thrall to big state control and multinational corporations and more prioritisation towards Scottish based enterprise. I’m a believer in direct democracy. And as such, if political parties make up the majority of seats in Holyrood after the Scottish elections, then they should be granted a Scottish independence referendum. That’s real direct democracy in action. Politics should always be about the will of the people rather than the wilfulness of politicians who try to block democracy. And anyone who is a genuine ‘freedom fighter’ should recognise the right to sovereign freedom for any country - if the will of the people chooses to do so. #ScottishElection #ScottishIndependence

ELECTION DAY Vote! Vote! Vote! Voters are heading to the polls to elect a new Scottish Parliament. But short trousers are not obligatory. We hope our 'Candidate to Watch', Denise Sommerville, Ayr, is a clear winner. For those who have not already submitted a postal ballot, polling stations opened at 07:00 and voting will take place until 22:00. Some constituencies have changed since the last Holyrood election in 2021 - though the total number of seats remains 129. With no overnight counting at this election, the first results are expected on Friday afternoon. Grumpy old men and shrieking women who vote for neo-fascist Reform will lose their pension.

His days as Prime Minister are numbered. But I’m sure he will cope. He will shuffle off and end up as a global technocrat for NATO or the WEF and/or a seat on the board for the likes of BlackRock. It’s a big club.

Okay guys the Scottish Parliament election is almost upon us. Hopefully you will go to your local polling stations tomorrow and use your two votes. Here is my final pitch for your regional list vote in Glasgow and across Scotland. If you believe independence is both urgent and necessary and that we are a country not a county then give us your regional vote because it will count for independence. The Alliance To Liberate Scotland has featured in only two opinion polls. We are sitting on support of around 7% to 8%. We need only 6% to succeed in securing a seat and displacing a Tory MSP. That is a win, win situation. If you believe Scotland is a country not a county you are on our page. Give us your regional list vote. If you don't then vote for another party.
