I just learned that the Māori word for autism is takiwatanga, ‘in his/her own time and space’. It’s such an empathic and gentle way to describe the condition I’m trying to come to terms with.

Many “studies” debate about how awful autism is.
But I wonder how many of these researchers consider how awful their “studies” are for autistic people to read.
And how awful the consequences of their narratives can be for us in the real world 🤔
