Five downtown Annapolis restaurants learned Friday that their annual outdoor dining leases will not be renewed. The city of Annapolis on Friday notified Iron Rooster, McGarveyโs, Federal House, Market House and Middletonโs Tavern that their leases for outdoor dining, which end in two months, will not be renewed. The eateries are all located at Market Space, where outdoor dining takes up about 19 parking spaces near Ego Alley. The city has suggested that there are plans to move forward with outdoor dining leases after negotiations. Iโm sick of people always blaming the owner. This happened to us. We left our dog in the house when we ran off to do an errand. Unbeknownst to us, our 10 month old dog managed to open the front door because it was a lever handle (that had never happened before). He ran out onto a busy street trying to find us and got hit by a car โbroken leg.
Someone called us because our number was on the tag and we drove back. The people watching our dog were so nice but they said another couple came by saying what horrible owners we were because we let our dog run free outside.
From that moment on our dog was never left free to roam the house when we were gone. Either crated or leashed to the coffee table.
You donโt always know the facts. This person may have had the dog on the leash and undid it briefly. Or he was opening the door to his house or car and the dog bolted out.
