@nikonrumors Every third-party Z-mount ultrawide that lands is another argument against paying used-market premium for the Z 14-30 f/4. The Z system's third-party catalog is filling out fast — and the floor on Nikon's own wide primes has been quietly drifting down all year.

@Blackmagic_News Used Pocket 6K and Ursa Mini 4.6K bodies have been the indie filmmaker's hedge against exactly this. When new gear pricing climbs on memory and DRAM costs, the used market follows within a quarter — but the floor on these specific Blackmagic bodies has held remarkably well.

Memory Pricing Update! Due to rising flash storage and DRAM costs, unfortunately some product prices have increased. We've limited the models affected and added new ATEM Television Studio models without storage for a more affordable option. Please check our website for details. blackmagicdesign.com

@SonyAlphaRumors A1 II owners just watched their flagship spec lead get nullified by an R-line body. Used A1 II prices are about to face the same softening curve A1 mk I saw post-A7R V — historically 8-12% in 90 days when a cheaper sibling matches the headline feature.

@SonyAlpha A7R V used market is about to learn what "R-line refresh" means in 90-day price terms. Historically the outgoing flagship loses 12-18% in the quarter after a successor lands. Patient A7R V buyers should bookmark June.

What's the best used camera deal you've ever gotten? I'll start: Canon 85 1.8 for $180 at an estate sale. Man had no idea what it was. camscouter.com

@photorumors Third-party glass on the used market is a different game. Viltrox Pro v1 lenses already trade 35-40% under retail because v2 obsoletes v1 within a release cycle. The 35 1.4 Pro is good news for new buyers, painful for whoever paid full price last fall.

@Fujirumors X100VI used market has been the strangest data point in cameras — people paying over MSRP for clean copies because retail supply stayed vapor. An X80 launch evaporates that scarcity premium almost overnight. Patient X100VI buyers finally see a floor.

@Hasselblad Medium format has the slowest, most rewarding used curve in cameras. CFV II 50C still trades $4-5K, XCD glass barely depreciates because nobody dumps it. Patient buyers eventually inherit the 100C floor at half off too. Quietest depreciation in the industry.

Things I did not expect to become an expert on while building a used camera price tracker: - FredMiranda's HTML from 2006 - KEH grading vocabulary - How much people will pay for a used Leica lens cap camscouter.com

@petapixel Indie shops like Blue Moon are the last places where used film bodies get priced by people who actually shoot them. eBay treats a clean Pentax K1000 like a parts donor. A real shop knows it's a gateway camera and prices it accordingly. We need more of these, not fewer.

@Cameralabs Used Canon RF 35 1.4 holds tight — barely under MSRP, low supply on KEH/MPB. Sony FE 35 GM has been on the used market longer and trades 25-30% under retail in clean condition. Same flagship tier, very different resale stories. Patient Sony shooters win this round.

Got an interesting video for you today! Two high-end 35mm f1.4 lenses stand before you: one from Canon, the other from Sony, but which is best? In my latest video (linked below) I’ve put them through a load of tests to see if one takes a lead. So get ready… aaand FIGHT!

The gap between asking price and sold price on eBay for used camera bodies averages 18%. On FredMiranda it's 6%. Forums are honest markets — when the seller is a photographer, the listing is closer to fair. camscouter.com

@nikonrumors When new-body rebates hold steady, the used market upstream takes the hit instead. $900 off a Z8 sets the ceiling — Z7 II and Z6 III used floors will quietly drift 4-7% the next 30 days. Patient buyers eat well when the rebates strike back.

Used Canon RF glass is holding value like it's stored in a vault. Used EF glass is a fire sale. This is the quiet cost of every mirrorless transition — the new mount holds, the old mount bleeds. Patient EF buyers are eating well right now. camscouter.com

@Blackmagic_News PYXIS 12K landing means the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K used market quietly opens up. Indie filmmakers tend to cycle bodies on these announcements within 60-90 days. Patient buyers historically pick up clean 4.6Ks at 50-55% of MSRP about a quarter post-flagship-launch.

Sony A7 III used average is $992 right now. First time it's averaged under $1K on the used market. Down 4% in 30 days. Whatever's coming next at Sony, the patient A7 III buyers are eating well today. camscouter.com/pricing

@SonyAlphaRumors Every A1 II rumor sets a clock on used A7RV inventory. 67MP at €5K is the kind of spec sheet that triggers high-MP shooters cycling bodies. Expect the A7RV used floor to soften 8-12% in the 90 days post-launch. The patient buyers eat well.

@photorumors Mirror lenses are the most reliably depreciating glass on the used market. Tokina 300, MTO-500, Kenko 800 — all hit 40-50% of MSRP within 2 years. Kase entering AF reflex is interesting; if it focuses fast, the used floor might hold higher than the genre's record.

Unpopular opinion: used gear from FredMiranda classifieds is usually cheaper AND in better shape than eBay. The catch is you have to actually read 400 posts. Or use a tool that does — camscouter.com

@mikayla_ro70498 KEH's BGN tier at $150 is honestly the sweet spot — half the time the only "cosmetic damage" is a tiny scratch nobody will ever notice. The thrill IS the right word. Used glass on a budget gets weirdly addictive once you know the grade codes.
