@TheMizzCandy I grew up and live in the Caribbean. All my family is from the Caribbean. I have a problem being called West Indian because it's more coloniser language than being called a Caribbean person. That's how I feel about it not being fussy.

@Lylakins @ashyyykneees I don't see the term West Indian as simply a navigational error so that's why my feelings toward it may differ from yours. Again don't get the pile on and need to suggest I'm uneducated.

@ashyyykneees My mother (the same Historian) refers to herself as West Indian, my sister doesn't care which term is used and I prefer Caribbean person. It's a preference. The truth is we should have an alternate term (something I already stated) Insulting my intelligence wasn't needed.

@Lylakins @ashyyykneees That's fine. My post was responding to someone stating that preferring being called a Caribbean person was trying to be stuck up. I explained MY reason for my preference (YES I know the history) and that it had nothing to do with being stuck up.
