Today, we remember and reflect on the horrific 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. We honour the victims, survivors, and everyone whose lives were changed forever by the atrocities and commit to building a better world where such horrors are never forgotten or repeated.

Canada supports these efforts and underscores the importance of continued dialogue, as well as the protection of civilian life and infrastructure. The ministers agreed to remain in close contact on shared priorities, including economic cooperation and people-to-people ties.

Min. Anand spoke with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East. Progress in ceasefire negotiations was noted, as Minister Anand acknowledged Pakistan’s role in advancing discussions at a critical time.
