I am home from the ER! Recap! So earlier today while I was working on future content, I stood up weird from a sit and felt a physical tear in my hip and then VERY intense pain to a point where entirely I lost the ability to walk or bear weight. About 5 hours after this injury, no improvement, I can no longer deal with it and have Zenia take me to the ER. We get there, and I get a room fast. Them: “We can only help for bones btw” Me: “This is not a bone issue” Then: “Let’s check anyways” Given torodol injection. Mentioned I was already prescribed this med and it didn’t help. Again, it didn’t help this time either. The hospital did X-ray and concluded there MAY be a fracture in my hip bone actually, and wanted to do a CT. Waiting. For hours. In agony. I press the help button because I can’t bear the pain, they come back with a 5mg oxycodone. I state, “I am on 10mg of oxycodone 5x a day already for disability pain.” They essentially just go “Oh.” And leave. They do not come back with anything else, and I am not okay at this point. I press the button again, for pain help, and got, “You already denied the meds we offered.” okay… “Can I at least take my disability meds?” “I’ll ask the doctor.” She does not. After HOURS of hell, them refusing to give me appropriate pain management while I was hysterically sobbing, they finally brought me back again for another test, Did a CT, was waiting for results, FOR HOURS. I was 9 hours late for my disability meds at this point and not in a state where I could do anything besides lose my mind in such pain. Please note that I am on a VERY strict regimen with my meds, and was over 2 pills behind, which comes with major consequences - a large concern with my pain level is being unmedicated putting me into shock. I had my meds, but couldn’t take them in case I needed an emergency operation. “The potential fracture didn’t show up on this, please see a specialist as this is a musculature issue. We are only able to help with bone related. But something is up, follow up with a specialist.” They send me home, I still cannot bear weight nor walk, so little Sköll (service dog in training) will be helping me where he can, and I need to be on bed rest until my appointment on Thursday. I will most likely have to schedule an operation, as this is very likely the lateral tear I was ALREADY diagnosed with and recommended surgery for, but I was a dummy because it’d put me out of work and declined. I genuinely cannot afford to stop working, but I have no other choice so that I can recover. I’m a mess, but I will be okay! Please keep me in your thoughts! We’d be on operation number 10, so this isn’t new to me in the slightest. That’s the gist of it 🫠 Gotta love having a skew of disabilities that make your life hell
