@ksuvet68 @CanesStats I think once Gary is done being a dictator, the powers at be will probably push for a 1-8 seeding again because it seems like everyone (or the majority) of people and owners prefer the old system

@CanesStats Hopefully some year they will go to 1-8 pairing. Or give the division winners the 7 and 8 teams then 3 against 6 and 4 against 5 based on points

It's crazy to me that the Hurricanes were the top of the standings in the Eastern Conference and the team they played as the WC2 in the First Round has more points in the standings than their Second Round opponent.

@ZachCaniac I think we would have been more critical of the top line if Ottawa’s wasn’t canceled out by them. Will need the top line to produce more in round two but I’m not that worried.

Andrei Svechnikov was held point-less in round one but he often seemed to be one of the most dynamic players on the ice. Fret not Canes fans, remember what he did this season after going point-less in his first eight games! #CarolinaCulture

@caniacbarron @FutureCanes Agreed - just keeping the flyers on the road for a couple of more games instead of resting at home was my thought.

At this point, I’m just hoping Pens/Flyers goes as long as possible. Let them break eachother down a little bit more. Truthfully, I like how the Canes match up against both teams. Obviously both are strong teams with a few X-factors, but Canes squad is deeper than both.

@Morg43 @FutureCanes I think it wouldn’t particularly matter if it went seven games or not because typically round two games don’t start till all or at least most of the first round games are done or are wrapping up. Most likely we would play this upcoming weekend.

@FutureCanes Best case - it goes 7, Flyers win and then stay on the road Raleigh-bound. Also, Flyers were only +7 in the regular season, so that’s an attractive matchup, rested or not.

@FFCane32 It makes for really good round one matches but can spoil further rounds because good teams have to be eliminated. Two of Dallas, Minnesota, Habs, and Tampa won’t see the second round and it’s because of the format
