Bad Bunny’s show wasn’t revolutionary and it wasn’t “soft imperialism” (yes, some are calling it that) - it was a celebration of Latin American culture and a nod to PR independence. That’s all, nothing more, nothing less.
If we want more, something more substantial and ideologically sharp then go to our radical intellectuals - there’s plenty of them. From Mariategui to Martí - or Rodney. Expecting it from a reggaeton artist and writing statuses about how insubstantial it was is just lazy.
Critiquing Bad Bunny’s art is easy, lazy, cheap engagement. Go do it with our sophisticated ideologues, with our radical thinkers. Yea, you’re not going to get those thousands of likes, it’s not as motivating.
