And I get the world we're in. I have no problem with "no hugs" (for safety/comfort), "no autographs" (to avoid resale from fake fans), etc.
What wins me over is just having sincere excitement to engage with your supporters. That you see it as something you *get* to do, not something you have to do.

I've been fortunate enough to encounter a lot of celebs at events/activations due to my job + living in NY, and I've seen first-hand how much some sincerely value their fans. They'll mess up their schedules, ignore restrictions from their manager and publicist, and delay their "paid" day-to-day tasks just to give a heartfelt hi to those who support them.
I can't expect let alone force all celebrities to engage with fans like that. But no one can stop me from celebrating those who do.

@MarkHolum The whole framing of the "defense" just feels backward to me.
I'd follow "I didn't see you" with "if I had, of course I would have waved hello and invited you over for a chat"
Not I didn't see you, so how could I have reported you to security?

@cantorpedia the fact that chappell doesn't seem to like children? and has terrible management?
English

@o_biennis I’d like to, but I’m going to a show to support a friends band the night prior, so it’ll depend on whether I’m feeling all nighter energy
English

@cantorpedia I was going to tweet you last night but it looked like you were private but it was late and I could have been seeing things. Will you be tuning into the livestream? I guess it's probably an inconvenient time but would love to hear your thoughts later if you tune in
English

@cantorpedia saw you were locked before but you have to be lowkey enjoying the hoopla around the BTS Arirang release. Before you once commented that album releases didn't feel like events anymore

What’s weird about Jeopardy contestants being so notoriously bad at sports and pop culture is that pub trivia games focus almost exclusively on those categories.
So the issue isn’t just a lack of overlap between Jeopardy players and sports/entertainment fans … but an apparent lack of overlap between Jeopardy players and weekly trivia players.
Yahoo Sports@YahooSports
None of the Jeopardy contestants knew who Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was 🫠 SGA won MVP and the NBA Championship last season 😅

Everyone knows I’m a big BLACKPINK guy, both for their collective and solo work, and I don’t understand this reaction.
She’s not saying she thinks KATSEYE is the biggest, she’s saying she wants them to be.
What’s wrong with that? Shouldn’t we all strive to be the best?
🧛♀️@rubymedias_
even blackpink at their peak have never said anything close to this btw 😭

@roestkat @fatalflaw444 @idgaf593182 It can also just mean that not everyone needs to be in the mix for best new artist.
Sabrina’s long journey to the top is such a big part of her story, I’m not sure why we have to pretend she was a sudden success when she wasn’t
English

@fatalflaw444 @idgaf593182 @cantorpedia But like that would mean every new artist has to have a massive succes with their first song?
English

Two #Grammys eligibility issues we need to address:
New artist - if you're eligible one year, you shouldn't get to resubmit in the future just because you didn't win/get nominated. You might become a better artist in the future, but you can't become more "new."
Song awards - songs are now readily available at release. "Single" campaigns aren't really a thing anymore (especially post-album release singles). So eligibility should be defined by release date.
English

@cantorpedia Tate is the only kinda new artist who ruined her chances of a BNA nomination for submitting way too many times before she blew up 🤭🤣🤦🏻♂️
English

The award is a mess because we're so concerned about giving a major award to a non-major name and specifically worried about awarding someone who fades away shortly after winning.
But it's silly because it's just supposed to be the year's Best New Artist, not the next long-term Superstar.
Plus, even seemingly "established" stars can fade away. Sam, Meghan, Alessia, Chance, etc felt like "safer" long-term bets than, say, Samara Joy ... but when push came to shove, they never got bigger than they were on Grammy night.
English

@cantorpedia They should just rename the BNA category into "Breakthrough Artist of the year", it would make wayyy6 more sense
English

Exactly this.
I agree that it would be impractical to say "you're only eligible the first year you release a song." Very few artists get on the radar that quickly (even someone like Olivia had a moderate hit in "all I want" from HSM in the period prior to her official debut).
But once you're "established" enough to be under legitimate consideration, that should be it. You're no longer "new" after that.
English

@hiranyou @cantorpedia I think you misread what the op said. Once you’re eligible by the metrics that are currently in place, you should only be allowed to successfully submit for consideration once. Currently you can submit again if you lose (you get 3 total attempts), and that shouldn’t be the case.
